Best Red Fruity Smoothie – Low Carb Version Included

Red smoothie is my favorite! The best thing about smoothies is that THEY ARE REALLY FAST AND FUN TO MAKE. Smoothies are great for breakfast, summer picnics or just as a snack after work.

Red smoothie health effects

They are loaded with vitamins and fiber. They help digestion and give you an energy boost. Just whip all those delicious fruit in your blender and enjoy. A berry smoothie, in particular, contains powerful antioxidants and immune-boosting vitamins. It helps prevent cancer and diabetes and is known for reducing inflammation in your body.

Most of the fruit I use for the keto and non-keto smoothies I prepare – banana, berries, apples, pears, cherries, strawberries, etc – are frozen (I cut and freeze them), so the ingredients are available for long periods.

Since I adopted my keto lifestyle in 2018, I have restricted my sugar intake drastically. This is why all my sugary recipes are not aimed at us, low carb fans, but at people who choose to include sugar in their daily food. Our top favorites are: red smoothie, banana smoothie and green smoothie.

What fruit to avoid in low carb diet?

Fruits such as bananas, passion fruit, pomegranates, pears, apples, mangoes, cherries, oranges, grapes, pineapple, peaches and plums contain more sugar than you think. Those of us who pursue a low carb lifestyle should avoid these high in sugar fruits.

What fruit are low carb friendly?

Now, we low carbers can also drink smoothies! But we should use avocado, blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, starfruit, lemon, watermelon and cantaloupe (the last 2 in moderation), while adding plenty of celery and all the greens possible.

This is a keto blackberry smoothie to die for:
